Loaded Butter Chicken Oven Chips


1 packet McCain Sea Salt & Pepper Oven Chips


For the Chicken Marinade

500 grams chicken fillets cut into bite sized cubes   

½ cup full cream yoghurt

1 teaspoon garam masala

1 teaspoon dhania powder

1 teaspoon masala

½ teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper


For the Sauce

3 tablespoons butter

1 large onion diced

2 teaspoons garlic and ginger crushed

1 can chopped tomato

1 teaspoon mixed spice

½ teaspoon cardamom powder

2 teaspoons dhania powder

1 teaspoon cumin powder

2 teaspoons chilli powder

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon garam masala

¾ cup cream



Diced red onion

Chopped coriander

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 45 minutes

  1. Cook the McCain Oven Chips 15 minutes before the butter chicken is ready
  2. Marinate the chicken with all the ingredients listed above under chicken marinade
  3. Fry the chicken in oil a large pot on medium to high heat until cooked, remove and set aside
  4. In the same pot, add butter and the onions, garlic and ginger and fry until translucent
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes
  6. Add all the spices, except for the garam masala and mix well
  7. Allow to simmer on medium heat for about 15 minutes, you might need to add a little water
  8. Next add in the cream and let simmer for a further 3 minutes
  9. Now add the chicken back to the pot, mix well - allow to simmer for 2 minutes, top with garam masala and remove from the heat
  10. Arrange chips on a platter and top with lashings of butter chicken, chopped red onions and dhania
  11. Enjoy with friends and family :)
