Crisp & Chunky Toasted Cheese Sarmies With McCain Potato Smiles


1 x 500 g box Sea Harvest Crisp & Chunky Classic

8 slices of bread, buttered on both sides

400g grated cheddar cheese

¼ cup (60 ml) mayonnaise

¼ cup (60 ml) tomato sauce

1 x 415 g packet McCain Potato Smiles




Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 ºC.
  2. Lay frozen Sea Harvest Crisp & Chunky and McCain Smiles onto a baking tray.
  3. Place into the oven for 20 minutes and cook until golden and crunchy. Alternatively cook in an air fryer for the recommended time.
  4. Once the fillets are cooked and slightly cooled, cut into strips.
  5. Mix the mayonnaise and tomato sauce together
  6. Spread a layer onto 4 of the buttered slices of bread (set the rest of the sauce aside for serving).
  7. Put a layer of grated cheese on top of the sauce and then top with strips of Crisp & Chunky
  8. Top with a little more cheese and season with salt. Top with the other buttered bread slice.
  9. Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat.
  10. Place a sandwich (or 2 if you can fit) into the pan and cook low and slow until golden on one side, then flip and repeat.*
  11. Once ready, remove from the pan, slice and serve with McCain Potato Smiles and extra pink sauce for dipping.

Variations, Hints and Tips

*Tip: If you cook at too high a temperature you may brown the toast without melting the cheese, so it’s important to cook slowly.
