Partnering to bring an end to hunger in SA.

In recognition of our partnership with FoodForwardSA and in celebration of their 10 year anniversary (and our 20th) we invite you to join in on the fight and the reality facing many millions of people across our country.

Established in 2009 to address widespread hunger in South Africa, FoodForward SA connects a world of excess to a world of need by recovering quality edible surplus food from the consumer goods supply chain and distributing it to community organisations that serve the poor. More than 80% of the food recovered is nutritious food.

Their Vision: A South Africa without hunger.

Our Mission: To reduce hunger in South Africa by safely and cost-effectively securing quality food, and making it available to those who need it.

FoodForward Programmes

FoodForward SA is the largest food redistribution organisation in South Africa. They implement a model called “food banking” where Retailers, Manufacturers, Wholesalers, Farmers and Growers partner to recover their edible surplus food and distribute it responsibly to provide greater access to food for vulnerable groups across our country.

Our Contribution:

Working within the partnership network of over 530 beneficiary organisations and reaching more than 200 000 beneficiaries every day, over the years we have worked hard to ensure that we are always increasing our contribution to this important initiative, knowing that each time we do we are providing vital vegetable nutrients onto every plate of food served and we are more committed than ever to contribute as much as we can as often as we can.

In this way we have been able to deliver over 100 000kg (100 tons) of frozen surplus product) directly to Food Forward resulting in over 400 000 nutritious meals to hungry South Africans.

In 2020 we invite you to join the fight to end hunger in South Africa. Every “bite” helps and you can help too by following FoodForwardSA on social media to spread the awareness of their organisation and the good work their partners are doing.
